Ernakulam District Collector N.S.K. Umesh on Saturday (August 2) distributed educational aid and rehabilitation support to 42 students of Mount Tabor English High School in Meppadi, whose education was severely impacted by the devastating landslides in Wayanad.
Mr. Umesh, who has been appointed as the Director of General Education, handed over a cheque of ₹10 lakh to Sr. Salomi, Manager of the school, as the first phase of educational aid to the students. The programme was initiated by the Council of CBSE Schools Kerala as part of its ‘Snehapoorvam project-Wayanad relief initiative’, according to a release issued here.
Mr. Umesh said that people across the State had always stood up to help those hit by natural calamities and other disasters.
