The autobiography of Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] central committee member E.P. Jayarajan is set to be released by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Kannur on November 3. Titled Ithaanu Ente Jeevitham (This Is My Life), the autobiography is being published by Mathrubhumi Books.

The release comes months after a major controversy over an earlier version of the book. In April, a cover image and excerpts from an alleged autobiography of Mr. Jayarajan titled Kattan Chayayum Paripuvadayum were circulated by DC Books, sparking a political storm. The leaked PDF contained critical remarks purportedly made by Mr. Jayarajan against the CPI(M) leadership and the second Pinarayi Vijayan government, including comments describing it as ‘weak.’

Baseless, says Jayarajan

Following the leak, Mr. Jayarajan strongly denied having authorised the book’s publication, calling the content ‘fake’ and the circulated materials ‘baseless.’ He clarified that he had not given permission to publish or even prepare a cover image. The incident led to legal action against DC Books Publications and division head A.V. Sreekumar. The upcoming authorised autobiography of Mr. Jayarajan is expected to shed light on his political journey and personal experiences, drawing wide attention in Kerala’s political circles.
