The competent authority under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have confiscated the assets of a habitual drug peddler in Thiruvananthapuram city.
The accused, Vishnu S. Kumar, 25, of Thampanoor has been involved in multiple narcotics cases. The assets seized based on a report submitted by District Police Chief (Thiruvananthapuram City) Thomson Jose include vehicles and other investments in his possession.
According to the police, Vishnu was first arrested in November 2024 during a joint operation by the Thiruvananthapuram City District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) and Thumba police, when he was caught with 10 grams of MDMA.
After being released on bail, he allegedly resumed drug trafficking activities. In June 2025, he was arrested again by the DANSAF and Peroorkada police while smuggling 47 grams of MDMA from Bengaluru by car. He is also an accused in another drug case registered at the Vizhinjam police station.
Mr. Jose said that similar stringent measures would continue against both small-scale and organised drug peddlers operating in the city.
