Decomposed body found near Venjaramoodu

The decomposed body of a person was found near Venjaramoodu on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Sajeev of Karamana. Sajeev, who was employed at a scrap shop in Venjaramoodu, has been missing for the past three days, the police said.

The body, found in a plantain grove in Manickamangalam, was found to be in a severely decomposed state. Local residents reported a strong foul odour, which led farm workers in the area to search the nearby premises.

The police are awaiting the outcome of the post-mortem examination to understand the cause of death.
