Congress demands arrest of BJP spokesperson for death threat against Rahul Gandhi

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president and MLA Sunny Joseph has demanded immediate registration of a case and arrest of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson who issued a death threat against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a private TV channel debate.

“It is shocking that despite a death threat against the Leader of the Opposition, Kerala’s Home department has not taken the matter seriously. Will the BJP’s national and State leadership muster the courage to expel the representative who made this threat?” Mr. Sunny Joseph asked.

He said Mr. Gandhi is a leader committed to protecting the nation’s secular fabric and unity, and one who relentlessly fights for people’s issues both inside and outside Parliament. “Rahul Gandhi has taken a bold stand against the BJP’s nationwide voters list manipulation. Unable to counter his ideas politically, the BJP is now trying to eliminate him physically,” Mr. Joseph charged.

He added that the Congress, a movement that sacrificed countless lives for India’s freedom, secularism, and democracy, will never be intimidated by such threats. “Rahul Gandhi stands in the lineage of leaders who gave their lives for the nation’s cause. He will not be silenced,” Mr. Joseph declared.
