Kerala will present a comprehensive workation policy by January, 2026 to tap into the potential of the growing culture of blending work and vacation.
According to Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas, the Tourism department has been taking various measures for the past four years to encourage workation tourism in Kerala.
“To further establish Kerala as the best workation destination in the country, we will look at the various factors that could enhance the experience, including improvement of necessary amenities, Internet connection, transportion facilities and so on,” said Mr. Riyas. He said the State’s natural beauty coupled with its world-class infrastructure could help Kerala Tourism tap into the potential of the workation culture and boost the advancements we made in tourism sector.
A high-level meeting called by the Minister in this regard was attended by senior government officials, representatives of the Hotel and Resort Association, Internet service providers, information technology parks across Kerala, IT employees’ associations, and other government departments.
