The Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET) on Thursday (September 25, 2025) organised a beach cleaning programme at Cherai as part of the nationwide ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2025’ campaign.
Staff and students of CIFNET, along with local volunteers, collected plastic waste, discarded fishing gear, and other debris littering the shoreline.
Addressing the gathering, Aashish Koushik, Director in charge of CIFNET, emphasised the importance of marine conservation and the role of public participation in preserving coastal ecosystems.
