Chennithala seeks probe into Devaswom Ministers of past 10 years

Kerala

Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Ramesh Chennithala, MLA, has demanded an investigation into the role of three Ministers who handled the Devaswom portfolio over the last 10 years in the Sabarimala ‘gold theft’ case. In a statement here on Sunday, he alleged that no corruption can take place in the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) without the knowledge of the Devaswom Ministers.

He demanded that the current president and members of the board should also be included in the list of accused and charges filed against them individually. No matter how high-ranking they are, those who have robbed temples should be held accountable. If those involved in this theft have shown the courage to remove even the door frames that devotees see every day, the level of theft must have taken place from the countless offerings made by devotees is unimaginable, he said.
