The Ernakulam Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has reserved its order on a petition filed by Director General of Police Yogesh Gupta, alleging that the State government was deliberately withholding his NOC (no-objection certificate) for a Central deputation.
The CAT had earlier asked the government to submit all documents related to a pending vigilance inquiry against him. The directive was issued after the tribunal was not satisfied with the initial reply given by the government. The government informed the CAT that necessary documents had been submitted when the matter was heard on Wednesday.
In his petition, Mr. Gupta had alleged the violation of the 2024 guidelines from the Department of Personnel and Training, which state that Vigilance clearance should not be denied to officers for All India Service deputations without a valid reason.
