State Law Commission member and former district judge T. Indira called upon the people to uphold the country’s constitutional values and to strive to lead the country to greater heights.
She was speaking after inaugurating the Constitution Day celebrations organised by ’Victims Information, Sensitisation, Welfare and Assistance Society’ (VISWAS), a volunteer organisation working for the welfare of the victims of crimes and excesses, at Palghat Lions School here on Wednesday.
VISWAS secretary general and former deputy director of prosecution P. Premnath delivered the keynote address.
Atul S., Adwaita K. and Amrita Sunil won the first three prizes respectively in an elocution competition on constitutional preamble. Ms. Indira gave away the prizes to them.
VISWAS vice president N. Rakhi presided over the function. Lions School principal Sandhya Pradeep, VISWAS vice president B. Jayarajan, VISWAS intern Anna Minni spoke.
VISWAS law forum convener K. Vijaya welcomed the gathering. School vice principal Bindu Unnikrishnan proposed a vote of thanks.
