Kerala

A protest march organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the Kasaragod General Hospital demanding the resignation of Health Minister Veena George turned tense on Monday (July 7, 2025) after clashes broke out between party workers and the police.

The march, which began from the new bus stand, was stopped by police barricades near the LIC office close to the hospital. As tensions escalated, the police deployed water cannon to disperse the protesters.

Former BJP State secretary V.K. Sajeevan inaugurated the protest. Two BJP leaders sustained injuries during the clash. The State government had failed to address the worsening condition of the public health sector, alleged BJP.
