The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has released the counselling schedule for admission to MBBS and BDS programmes in the state. The admissions will be conducted on the basis of NEET UG 2025 scores. As per the guidelines, 85% of the total seats are reserved for candidates with Assam domicile, while the remaining 15% will be filled through the All India Quota (AIQ) for students from other states.
The online registration process for the first round of Assam NEET UG counselling will begin on July 24 and continue until July 29. Candidates included in the Assam State Provisional Merit List are eligible to participate in this round. Below is the complete counselling schedule:

All counselling-related activities will be conducted online through the official website at dme.assam.gov.in. There will be no offline counselling for any of the seats, as confirmed in the official notice issued by DME Assam.
Assam NEET UG 2025: Merit list and eligibility
Earlier, the DME published the Provisional Assam State Revised Merit List based on NEET UG 2025 scores. A total of 19,823 candidates have been included in this list, which includes their NEET UG roll number, category, and rank. Only those candidates whose names appear in this merit list are eligible to participate in the state counselling process.

Assam NEET Counselling 2025: Special category document verification

Candidates applying under the special reservation categories, such as freedom fighters, martyrs of the Assam Movement, victims of extremist violence, ex-servicemen, serving defense personnel, and sports quota are required to undergo physical document verification. This verification process will be conducted on July 18, 2025, prior to the commencement of the counselling.
