The Nedumangad police have registered a case against an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) in a case of alleged drunk driving that led to an accident late Tuesday.
ASI Vinod, who is attached to the Valiyamala police station, drove the vehicle in an inebriated state. A couple were injured when the police officer’s car collided with their motorcycle at Chullimanoor junction. Those injured were rushed to a hospital, where their condition remains stable.
An empty bottle of alcohol was found inside the car, official sources said.
