Air India Express flight from Jeddah makes emergency landing in Kochi airport due to landing gear, tyre failure

An Air India Express flight, IX 398, headed to Kozhikode from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, made an emergency landing at the Kochi airport after being diverted on Thursday (December 18, 2025) morning due to a technical snag involving the right main landing gear and tyre failure.

The aircraft, carrying 160 passengers, landed safely under full emergency conditions at 9.07 a.m.

All emergency services were activated in advance, and there were no injuries reported among passengers or crew, according to sources.

Post-landing inspection confirmed that both right-side tyres had burst.

Runway has been cleared for operations after inspection.
