There are a ton of note taking apps on Android, but since its launch back in 2013, Google Keep has retained its position as one of the most popular note taking apps of all time. And while Google has updated Keep with new features every now and then, the widgets have mostly stayed the same since Android 12.

Now, Google is finally rolling out a new update that makes all Google Keep widgets bigger than before. First spotted by 9to5Google, the iconic flower-shaped Quick Capture widget is getting a redesign with the background now touching “all four edges of the bounds of the grid” and the center Plus button now housed in a squircle shape instead of a rounded square.

The 4×1 widget now shows an add note button alongside list, audio and drawing shortcuts. If you often take photo notes, make sure to use the 5×1 widget. However, there are no updates to the Note collection or Single note widget. The new redesigned Google Keep widgets are available with version 5.25.132.01.90, but since this is a server side update, it may take some time before you can use them.

Last month, Google Keep added a new feature called “Create text notes by default”, which, as the name suggests, lets users make new text notes with a single tap.
