Adobe has announced several new AI-powered features at NAB 2025, including the ability to extend video clips in 4K on Premiere Pro using the Firefly AI model.
“Powered by Adobe Firefly, Premiere Pro will seamlessly add extra 4K frames so you have enough media to cover transitions, hold on an emotional reaction for an extra beat, or add in missing ambient sounds and/or room tone,” the creative software giant said in a press release on Wednesday, April 2.
Adobe also said that Generative Extend is capable of working in the background as users edit videos on Premiere Pro. All AI-extended clips will be marked with Content Credentials, it added.
While Generative Extend can initially be used for free, prolonged access to the feature will depend on the number of Firefly generative credits belonging to the user. “The price will vary based on the format, frame-rate, and resolution of your video,” Adobe said.

In addition, the company has introduced AI-translated captions with support for around 27 languages and an AI-powered search function to pull up the desired footage in seconds.
These AI features are designed to streamline workflow in both Premiere Pro and After Effects. The creative software giant has also introduced dozens of other improvements requested by Pro editors and motion designers.
“Other top workflow improvements in Premiere Pro 25.2 include drag-and-drop colour management, dynamic waveforms, coloured sequence labels, additional GPU accelerated format support, and more,” Adobe said.
