A video reportedly showing Indian National League (INL) workers making threats to an Independent candidate has surfaced from Melparamba, raising tensions in Chemmad grampanchayat’s 16th ward (Kalanad), Kasaragod.

According to sources, three INL workers confronted Independent candidate Abdul Rahman Kalanad at a shop and issued warnings. The caution was reportedly linked to concerns that Rahman’s presence in the race could split votes.

The ward had witnessed a close contest last time, with the INL winning by just eight votes. The same INL candidate is contesting again, while the IUML candidate had lost in the previous election.
