Kottayam to host conclave on ‘emerging career trends’ in November

The Career Guidance and Adolescent Counselling Cell of the higher secondary wing of the Directorate of General Education will organise a three-day international conclave on ‘emerging career trends’ in Kottayam from November 21.

The conclave is intended as a platform for fostering bold approaches in career development in times of rapid technological changes driven by artificial intelligence and automation. More than ever, it is necessary for students, career mentors, and policymakers to be equipped with tools to navigate this dynamic landscape.

The conclave will bring together academic scientists, researchers, and practitioners to deliberate on multidisciplinary fields influencing career development such as psychology, education, sociology, and labour economics. It will showcase recent innovations, discuss critical challenges, and reach solutions in the area of career advancement for a future-ready workforce.

Impact of AI

The conference themes include ‘Future of work and digital transformation’ that will focus on navigating the impact of AI and emerging tech on career paths and strategies for thriving in remote, hybrid, and gig economies. ‘Human-centric skills and well-being’ will explore strategies for sustainable career success and cultivating emotional intelligence and soft skills.

Class XII students

‘Innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact’ will discuss innovation, scaling businesses, and ethical leadership. Maximising potential, navigating diverse professional ecosystems, and environmental stewardship will be the focus during ‘Global perspectives and inclusive growth.’ Papers can be presented at the conference. Importantly, it will provide an opportunity to Class XII students to make presentations too.
