Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan

The Nadakakvu police on Sunday (June 30, 2025) night arrested five persons who allegedly tried to follow Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s convoy in their unregistered private vehicle during his journey between Vengali and West Hill in Kozhikode district.
The incident took place around 10 p.m. when Mr. Vijayan was coming from Kannur to the Kozhikode Government guesthouse. The vehicle involved in the incident was impounded and shifted to the Nadakkavu police station for further verification of the ownership.
Bail granted
A case was registered under Section 170 (arrest to prevent cognizable offence) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita against the five suspects identified as Naseeb, Jyothibasu, Mohammed Fariz, Faizal and Abdul Wahid. They were later granted bail.
Police sources said the arrested were natives of Malappuram and Palakkad districts. There were no criminal intentions behind the chase, they said based on the preliminary investigations.
