Akamala landslip hits train services in Kerala

Several trains between Shoranur and Thrissur were delayed for hours following a landslip at Akamala, near Wadakkancherry, Thrissur, on Saturday afternoon.

Among the trains affected by the landslip were Palaruvi Express from Palakkad to Thoothukudi, Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express, Kottayam Nilambur Express and Kannur-Ernakulam Intercity Express.

Railway officials said they were working hard to clear the debris and restore the traffic.
