A girl child was received at the Ammathottil electronic cradle of the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare at Thycaud here just after Monday midnight.
The four-day old infant, weighing around 2.7 kg, was named June, council general secretary G.L. Arun Gopi said in a statement on Tuesday.
The infant was taken for a medical examination at Women and Children Hospital, Thycaud, and then shifted to the adoption centre of the council.
As the child’s adoption procedures have to be completed, anyone claiming the child should approach the council within two months, Mr. Arun Gopi said.
This year, seven children have been received at the Ammathottil here till now, and three have been received in Alappuzha.
