Adobe has announced over a hundred new upgrades to its suite of creative software tools accessible through its Creative Cloud platform, including certain AI features powered by its flagship Firefly technology to enable users to instantly generate visuals and graphics, animate still images, convert long video footage into shorter clips, and more.
The design software giant also introduced a new Firefly AI app at Adobe Max London, its annual creativity conference, held on Thursday, April 24. The app is designed to be an all-in-one platform for AI-assisted content ideation, creation, and production, the company said.
Through the app, users will not only be able to access Adobe’s in-house AI models (Firefly Image Model 4 and Firefly Video Model) but also third-party AI models such as Gemini and ChatGPT developed by its partners Google and OpenAI, respectively.
AI models from other developers including fal.ai, Ideogram, Luma, Pika, and Runway will be available in the coming months, as per the company. Adobe also said it is rolling out a new feature called Firefly Boards that helps users mood board, ideate, and explore concepts with the help of AI. This feature will be available in beta through the Firefly app.

“Today, we’re bringing creative professionals major advancements in app performance, highly requested productivity features and all-new AI features powered by Firefly to give creators everything they need to bring their creativity to the world,” she said.
AI agents for multi-step edits
Adobe said it has revamped its Actions panel where AI agents will be capable of undertaking multi-step edits chosen by the user. “The Actions panel enables them to enact these edits with a single click. It is the foundation of what will become Photoshop’s first creative AI agent,” Adobe said.

The company said it envisions developing AI agent-based tools that automates more than 1,000 one-click actions in Photoshop with creator control. “Adobe has also laid the foundation for agentic professional video workflows in Premiere Pro with Media Intelligence, which understands the content clips, automatically recognizing objects and the visual composition of shots in every frame,” it added.
Moving forward, Adobe Express will also be integrated with AI agents to help users “quickly and intuitively create standout visual content and bring ideas to life with ease.”
Adobe Creative Cloud upgrades
Creative Cloud is Adobe’s subscription-based platform that gives users access to the latest versions of its creative offerings such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and more, as well as the company’s newly launched generative AI tools and features.
At Max London 2025, Adobe announced the following upgrades to its Creative Cloud suite of apps.

Photoshop: It has been upgraded with new Firefly-powered AI features such as Composition Reference in Text to Image, which can be used to generate visual assets in the same structure and arrangement as a reference image provided by the user. Select Details, on the other hand, makes it easier to select things like hair, facial features and clothing while the Adjust Colours option is aimed at simplifying the process of adjusting color hues, saturation, and lightness in images.
Premiere Pro: The upgrades within Premier Pro includes quicker generation, editing, and searching of footage using AI. “Firefly-powered Generative Extend is now generally available and production ready with support for 4K and vertical video,” Adobe said. Video editors will also be able to find relevant clips through terabytes of footage more easily and localise captions in over 27 languages through Caption Translation.
Express: Users can animate still images with a single click through Dynamic Animation. In addition, Clip Maker can instantly convert long video footage into social-length clips while Enhance Speech can be used to remove distracting background noise. It also announced features that provide AI-generated, commercially safe b-roll and AI-generated variations of a reference image.
Illustrator: This tool has been upgraded with Generative Shape Fill and Text to Pattern to help designers jumpstart their design process and customize concepts in their own individual style. Menu access has also been upgraded so designers can start their projects more quickly, the company said.

InDesign: AI productivity tools within this software can easily convert PDFs to InDesign documents, transform vector graphics into artwork from simple text prompts, and make it easiest for creators to place complex math notations directly in layouts.
Lightroom: “Select Landscape in Lightroom and Lightroom Classic helps photographers automatically detect and create masks for common landscape elements like water, plants, sky and more,” Adobe said, adding that it has introduced new sharing capabilities and Quick Actions on the platform.
Fresco: Users will now be able to add a new ‘created without generative AI tag’ which can be included in an image’s Content Credentials to protect the author’s rights and the capability to link exports directly to social media accounts, the company said. In addition, Adobe has added more than 1,500 fonts to Creative Cloud apps, including Arial, Gotham, Helvetica and Times New Roman.
