JEE Main 2025 Analysis: The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) BTech day 2 morning shift is concluded with experts claiming that the paper was moderate in overall difficulty level. The second day of the April 2025 session consisted of a 300-mark mathematics, physics, and chemistry paper. Among the three sections in JEE Main session two, Chemistry ranged from easy to moderate, Physics was moderately challenging, and Mathematics was slightly more difficult.
The JEE Main day 2 exam took place in two sessions: morning (9 am-12 pm) and afternoon (3 pm-6 pm). The JEE Main 2025 session 2 exam, which began on April 2, will run until April 9. Each subject comprises two sections: Section 1, featuring 20 multiple-choice questions with a single correct answer, and Section 2, consisting of five numerical-based questions.

According to Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering of Aakash Educational Services Limited, most students found the Physics section moderate, with a strong presence of numerical questions. “The topic distribution was fairly balanced, with significant weightage given to Mechanics, Electrostatics, Optics, and Units & Measurements, however, modern Physics and Magnetism had fewer questions, and notably, EMI and AC chapters were not covered,” said he.
Chemistry section is rated easy to moderate. He said that all the chapters were included, with Inorganic and Physical Chemistry carrying the most weight, while Organic Chemistry had fewer questions. Most theoretical questions were directly taken from NCERT, making them straightforward, although a few required extra time to solve.
While, the Mathematics section was moderate to difficult, with questions well-distributed across various topics. Key areas covered in the JEE Main morning session were Matrices, 3D Geometry, Vectors, Conic Sections, Calculus, and Determinants with some questions being lengthy and time-consuming, adding to the challenge for aspirants.

According to Ramesh Batlish, JEE expert, Aakash Invictus, the shift 1 exam on April 2, physics was moderately tricky, mathematics was moderate and lengthy, and chemistry was easy. “Overall, this paper was of a moderate level as per students,” he said.

The JEE expert also listed the topics covered on the April 2 morning session exam.
Mathematics: The paper had a strong focus on calculus, coordinate geometry, and algebra. Some students noted that Vector and 3D Geometry questions were present but not difficult. A few lengthy calculations in certain questions made time management crucial, but the overall difficulty was balanced. The Numerical Section had lengthy calculations.
Physics: More weightage given to mechanics, electrostatics and current electricity. Chapters included kinematics, gravitation, rotational motion, SHM, laws of motion, magnetism, ray optics, modern physics, work power and energy, heat and thermodynamics. Numerical based questions were easy. Few fact-based questions from Class 12 chapters of NCERT were also asked.
