Watch: Bengaluru’s beloved cup of filter coffee is about to get more expensive
Bengaluru’s beloved cup of filter coffee is about to get more expensive.
Starting March, coffee lovers will see a price hike of 10% to 15%, driven by a steep rise in the price of coffee powder and an expected increase in milk prices.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Hoteliers Association (BBHA) has decided to increase coffee prices after coffee powder costs jumped by ₹100 per kilogram.
The price of a popular brand of Arabica coffee powder rose from ₹588 per kg on January 15 to ₹725 by February 6.
Restaurants and hotels in Bengaluru are considering increasing coffee prices to match the rising costs of both milk and coffee powder.
The price of a cup of filter coffee is set to increase by ₹3 to ₹5, depending on the establishment.
Currently, a cup sells for around ₹12 to ₹15, but after the price hike, it will cost between ₹13 and ₹18.
