The 80th round of the National Sample Survey, conducted by the Department of Economics and Statistics, commenced in Thrissur district on Wednesday. Unlike previous surveys conducted using paper schedules, this round marks a shift to modern tablet-based data collection, according to deputy director A.P. Shojan.
This survey focusses on collecting crucial information related to health, one of the key indicators of social and economic well-being, helping to better understand the living standard of individuals. The deputy director urged the public to cooperate by providing accurate information during the data collection process.
The survey was officially inaugurated by MLA P. Balachandran at a conference held at Town Hall as part of the 19th National Statistics Day celebrations. Mr. Shojan presided over the event.
