Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur has commenced its MBA programme for the 2025–27 batch with a class of 353 students. The incoming cohort has recorded 14.5% of students coming from India’s top technical and management institutions, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, IISERs, and IIMs. Specifically, 26 students (7.57%) have graduated from institutes such as IIT Guwahati, NIT Tiruchirapalli, NIT Rourkela, and VNIT Nagpur during the 2024–26 period.
According to a statement, the institute has said that this year’s batch features a near-equal mix of academic backgrounds, with 55.5% of the students from engineering and 44.5% from non-engineering domains. Additionally, students in the current batch come from 21 states and three union territories.
Non-engineering representation includes commerce, sciences, humanities, law, management, medicine, and dentistry. The academic distribution reflects the institute’s emphasis on interdisciplinary learning and decision-making informed by varied perspectives.
The average work experience among students stands at 23 months. Students bring professional exposure from a range of sectors, including information technology, engineering, banking and financial services (BFSI), retail, and healthcare. This prior experience is expected to contribute to peer learning and contextual understanding during coursework, case discussions, and group projects.
The institute said that the academic year was initiated with an orientation programme that introduced students to various institutional processes and academic expectations. Sessions included overviews of placement structures, international collaborations, and campus infrastructure.
In addition to the academic curriculum, IIM Raipur has structured its orientation to include sessions on ethical conduct, campus policies, and mental health. Students also participated in modules on mental wellness, prevention of sexual harassment (POSH), and scholarship opportunities, indicating a broader focus on student well-being and regulatory awareness.
